Postdoctoral Fellowship Programs

2012 Summer Institute

The Summer Institute for the NOAA Climate and Global Change & PACE Postdoctoral Fellowship Programs will be held the week of 8-12 July 2012 in the beautiful mountain resort town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

The goal of the Institute is to bring together present and former fellows as well as host scientists, program sponsors and other invited guests to share cutting-edge research accomplishments and discuss the future of climate research as it pertains to global climate change.

The Institute provides a unique opportunity, in a relaxed and informal setting, for professional interaction and development of valuable connections with new colleagues. The 2012 Institute leaders, David Battisti and Dan Schrag, are developing a detailed plan for the week.

BattistiProfessor Battisti is the Tamaki Endowed Chair of the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the Joint Institute for the Study of Atmosphere and Ocean, University of Washington.

VisbeckProfessor Schrag is the Sturgis Hooper Professor of Geology at Harvard University, Professor of Environmental Science and Engineering, and Director of the Harvard University Center for the Environment.  He is also currently serving on President Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

Each participant at the Institute will share short overview presentations geared to a general audience (20-30 minutes), and specific topics will be discussed in different settings throughout the week.
